Images from my photo archive in TV documentary

The film about the artist Åke Göransson.

In this documentary film I participate with three images from my photo archive taken by photographer Conard. The images were taken in 1953.

The film tells the story of the mysterious Åke Göransson who created his paintings entirely for his own sake. They were not to be displayed or exhibited.

In 1940, an astonishing discovery was made in the apartment in Landala, Gothenburg, where he lived with his mother. A number of paintings were found on the kitchen sofa. It wasn't long before many people considered these to be of high class.

Göransson's tragic and short life and his unique painting style have created a myth that fascinates and arouses interest, and he is currently considered one of the foremost representatives of Gothenburg Colorism.

Åke Göransson lived only 40 years and died in 1942.

The documentary is available on SVT play: Life is short, art is long – the film about Åke Göransson | SVT Play
