1945 - 2025, Dumleklubban turns 80 years old.
According to Fazer's own story, this chocolate-covered toffee was introduced as a "kola lollipop" by Mazetti, which later became part of the Fazer family portfolio. It was a time when Sweden was yearning for simple pleasures after the war, and this candy delivered with its perfect blend of creamy milk chocolate and chewy, salted caramel toffee.
But the name Dumle?
It didn't come until 1960, and it was thanks to the super popular children's program *Humle och Dumle* – the little characters that charmed an entire generation. Humle och Dumle was a children's program feature on Sveriges Television. They first appeared as a permanent feature in the children's program Kapten Bäckdahl and were two characters who lived in his pantry. They were on the show from the first television broadcasts, which were carried out in 1958.
"Dumle" sounded so cute and mischievous, perfect for a candy that gets stuck everywhere!
Over the years, Dumlekolan has become a true Swedish classic, a candy that evokes memories of childhood Friday nights and summer holidays.
But talk about drama
In recent years, the old machine that makes these candy treasures has started to show its age, with rumors that production could be shut down. Imagine panic on the candy shelves! Fortunately, Fazer's engineers and love of caramel have prevailed, and the machine is toughing it out like a tough hero.
Today, 80 years later, the Dumlekalbu is still made with the same love and tradition, and it is as irresistible as ever! It's not just candy, it's a time machine of sweetness! So raise your lollipop and celebrate the anniversary – 80 years of pure, sticky magic.
