Gina Lollobrigida was born on July 4, 1927. If the information is correct, it is incredible that as a 3-year-old girl she was named Italy's most beautiful child. A little more adult, she participated in the 1947 Miss Italy beauty pageant, but came in third place.
From the early 1950s, she was one of Europe's most popular film stars, often described as, in the terms of the time: sex symbol and bust queen.
After she appeared in a number of Italian and French films, American film companies took notice of her.
When I look at Kristoffersson's pictures he took of her in 1950, I think it's true that she was very attractive. It's incredible that a Swedish photographer gets such unique pictures of a world star. KG, who directed his photoshoots quite well, seems to have managed to charm even Gina into following his instructions. Surely she didn't have to do more than just be herself.
This year 1950 she is listed as an actress in four films but I guess that at the time the pictures were taken she was filming the film Alina. There are pictures of her and her co-star Amedeo Nazzari.

There is no writer credited but there is some speculation about how she will fare in Hollywood. Or as it says; "In the capital of celluloid". One also asks the question; "Will she be able to handle the role of the new Rita Hayworth?"
Gina Lollobrigida died in 2023 at the age of 95.
