Harriet Andersson turns 93 today, born February 14, 1932 in Stockholm.
It was a long time ago, but I remember her as lively and a little cheeky when I, as a young man with a camera, would take pictures of her. I've always thought she had that extra something. The appeal and personality that stood out from the crowd.
Photographer Kristoffersson has taken a lot of pictures of Harriet and it feels like they had a special relationship. Kristoffersson himself wrote the headline in the report about Harriet in the magazine Filmjournalen and it is very apt.
“Recipe for Harriet:
A measure of sullen and whiny childishness, a measure of young mature femininity added with a pinch of melancholic grandmotherly singing. A measure of coldness, a bundle of sensitive nerves, a little sense of loneliness. A measure of tension laced with indifference is seasoned with a bowl of simmering temperament and stirred carefully.”
Harriet Andersson had success in Summer with Monika in 1953.
Better without bread than without books
That's the title of the charming photo report that I found published in the magazine Se 46 in 1951. It's Kristoffersson's photos that tell so beautifully about Malmö City Library's book bus that stopped in Lerhamn near Mölle.

Skånepågen Sten Svensson is seen standing in front of the bus with a whole pile of loan books in his arms. It was probably just as well to borrow many books since the bus didn't make its rounds that often. A long queue of children and young people is seen at the bus parked at the harbor.

It's Valentine's Day today.
Doesn't it make you happy when someone says something nice and shows appreciation? Spreading joy and love also gives you a wonderful feeling inside.
Don't forget that today is Valentine's Day. A day when you can selflessly focus on the relationships that matter most.
I illustrate with a loving motif of the actors Thor Modéen and Rut Holm tenderly hugging each other. An image that I now have as a poster in the online store.

I have written the newsletter myself and have not used AI.
Have a nice weekend!
