Back to the 1960s
The year is 1967 and the images were taken during a rather creative fashion shoot. Different models of Porsche cars are used to create a cool frame. The photographer has also used a wide-angle lens on his Hasselblad camera, which creates exciting angles.
What remains is the hardest part. Editing the images so they are as good as possible. No AI! Only manual correction and removal of the dust particles and scratches that are there to make them as good as possible. That is the first step.
The second step is even trickier. I have to find out what Porsche cars are in the pictures. Model and year. If I don't do that, I think the pictures will lose interest.
To increase the difficulty level further, I have to try to describe the clothes. Not easy. The anonymous negative envelope simply says: Clothes, June 1967. It would have been good if I knew where they were published, and I suspect in the magazine Svensk Damtidning. If things get really bad, I have to find the copy, I think a July-August issue.
A fairly typical example of how I work. I could make it easy for myself to just write the little things that are written, but all editors know that information about the pictures makes the job so much easier. The alternative is to try to find out for yourself, and journalists don't seem to have time for that these days. The consequence can be that the lack of details means that the pictures are not used.

Maybe one of you knows more about Porsche? Feel free to drop a line and comment. Preferably about fashion too, because in that area I am far from a specialist.
The images originate from the archive of the old Saxon & Lindström newspaper archive that I own.
I actually wrote the text for my newsletter and if you want to stay updated on the content of one of Sweden's largest image archives, subscribe to the newsletter.
