Poster with a picture of a snowmobile. The Larven was a Swedish unconventional snowmobile that has now achieved cult status. It consisted of a long caterpillar track with a seat where the driver sat and steered using his weight and skis. It was launched in 1965 and manufactured by the company Lenko in Östersund, founded by Lennart Nilsson. When it was launched, it cost 3,000 SEK. Approximately 4,500 copies were built in total. The top speed was 48 km/h. The caterpillar was propelled forward with fiberglass-reinforced plastic tracks. The caterpillar was 178 cm long, 81 cm wide with a total weight of 76 kilograms. The chassis was made of aluminum and divided in the middle. The engine is located in the rear carriage.
