Nydqvist & Holm AB. A company that at the end of the 19th century manufactured, among other things, steam locomotives. The company expanded almost continuously up to and including the First World War. The 1000th locomotive was manufactured in 1912. In 1920, Nohab received a large order for 1000 locomotives for the Russian SFSR, the "Russian locomotive", which, however, had been reduced to 500 two years later for political reasons. The order, which had a value of 230 million kronor, was the largest in Sweden to date. Payment was made in 56 tons of pure gold. Here at Nydqvist & Holm's newly built quay in Trollhättan, eleven locomotives intended for Russia are loaded at the end of July 1922. At the quay, the English steamer Neebing.
