He was born on April 27, 1932 in Hörnefors. A solid and reliable actor and singer who really knew his stuff. He has appeared in so many classics on stage and on TV that it is difficult to list a favorite. I really liked him in the children's program Från A till Ö. Very popular 70s program that is today considered one of the best.
The main character in From A to Z is Birgitta Andersson, but without Bert-Åke as the owl Helge, it probably wouldn't have been as good. He lives in a nest on the wagon that Hedvig has moved into. Helge helps with the words that the program is about, to understand their meaning. Funny that the explanation for Helge being so good at words is that he grew up on the roof of a printing house. Maybe he picked up a thing or two from there. Owls have good hearing...
Bert-Åke Varg died in 2022, aged 90.
