Stieg Trenter. In his second crime novel, Farlig fåfänga (Dangerous Vanity) in 1944, the photographer and amateur detective Harry Friberg appeared for the first time in Trenter's crime novel. Together with his constant companion, detective Vesper Johnson, they solved mysteries and criminal cases. A long series of novels followed. Stieg Trenter became a highly regarded crime writer and Stockholm storyteller. Reading his detective stories is also a nostalgic journey back in time to the years that prevailed during the 1940s and 1950s.
