Poster with a picture of a raccoon at the turn of the century 1800-1900
Railway heroes in Sweden at the turn of the century 1800–1900
Look at them, the hardworking wolves of the railway, somewhere in Sweden around the turn of the century 1800–1900! With iron picks in their hands and sweat beading on their foreheads, determined to lay the rails that would connect the ends of the country.
This is where teamwork comes into play! The men, dressed in the typical work uniforms of the time – caps, rough jackets and worn trousers – look as if they could tell stories of both hard work and laughter over a coffee break. Perhaps one of them glances at the small cabin in the background and dreams of a warm stove and a plate of porridge after the day’s work. Or they think about what the future will look like when the trains start rolling – new adventures, new opportunities!
There is something powerful about the scene: the mounds of earth, the heavy tools and the joint effort. Sweden was on the verge of modernisation, and these old men were involved in building the future – track by track. Who knows, maybe one of their grandchildren would one day stand on the platform and wave a train off on this very railway?
Our premium quality, heavier, white, matte paper has a natural, smooth, uncoated finish that feels luxurious to the touch.
