Poster with a historical photograph from Trondheim.

A motif showing people skating on the ice in the area near Trondheim.

A picture by photographer Kristoffersson who visited the city in 1949 and we now have a charming series of pictures from Trondheim.

The picture shows a wintry motif from post-war Trondheim, a time when the city was still recovering after the Second World War. Winter activities such as skating were a way to enjoy nature and come together as a community. The image gives a sense of activity and joy. Nidelva freezes over and acts as a natural skating rink. This natural skating rink shows how the local people used nature for recreation. Skating on elevenses was a common activity in Norway, especially at a time when organized idrettsanlegg was perhaps not as widespread as it is today. This shows how important nature was for leisure activities and social interaction.

Posters printed on our lighter, uncoated, classic matte paper. The perfect option that stands the test of time.
