Little Babs. One of Sweden's most popular singers

A now classic recording.

In 1961, Barbro appeared in the film Swedish Floyd. Here she plays the role of the big-time brat and nightclub singer Lollo. She sings the melody En tuff brud i lyxförmänning, which was written by Simon Brehm, among others. The recording of her and the dancers behind it is now considered a classic. Lill-Babs has said that the dance and choreography were largely improvisational. Photographer KG Kristoffersson visited the filming and his pictures from the recording are breathtaking. Click here to see all the pictures from the recording. Her co-stars were veteran actors Carl-Gustaf Lindstedt as the boxer Floyd from Nockeby and Arne Källerud in the role of Arne Redig, his trainer. The film premiered at the Stockholm cinema Astoria on October 7, 1961. Film critic Olle Grönstedt wrote the following review in the Stockholm newspaper: "As an extra attraction for the youthful audience, Lill-Babs has been given her first film role. She handles the singing numbers excellently even in the film. She moves confidently and at home behind the microphone and is beautiful to look at."
