Coca-Cola begins selling in Sweden. Until December 31, 1952, cola drinks were banned in Sweden because they contained phosphoric acid (E338) and caffeine. The law was changed and from January 1, 1953, it became permissible to mix these ingredients into soft drinks - as well as into food in general.

On June 29, 1953, the first trucks were loaded with Coca-Cola for Swedish consumers. The drink was manufactured under license by at most six breweries. A bottle of Coca-Cola cost 34 öre. For example, by the Mineralvattenfabriken Tre Kronor in Sundbyberg, from which the Volvo distribution truck comes that can be seen standing on Riddarholmskajen with Stockholm City Hall as a beautiful background.

The Volvo truck was a model L34 which was part of Coca-Cola's marketing which at the time was at the forefront of using advertising messages on the specially built trucks.

The Coca Cola sign is visible at the top of this 1950s photo of a kiosk. It's a real journey back in time to see the charming kiosk with its period advertising and appearance.
