Poster with a picture from the inauguration of Högdalen's center in 1959 .

Högdalen in southern Stockholm received a more modern center in 1959 with shops, a market square, a cinema, a library and a sports hall. The center had the department stores Kvickly and Tempo. In connection with the opening, children could try out pedal cars.

Here is a policeman during the festivities and inauguration of the new center on June 7, 1959. He stands with his hands at his sides and seems not happy with the driving when the boys collided with their pedal cars.
