Gripsholm. The ship that was delivered on November 27, 1925 was the most modern ship on the Atlantic at the time. Gripsholm with a length of 168.5 meters and a width of 22.7 meters was a veritable floating luxury palace and was where the celebrities of the time traveled. M/S Gripsholm was built by Armstrong, Whitworth & Co, Ltd in Newcastle, England. She was delivered on November 27, 1925 to the Svenska Amerika Linien in Gothenburg as the shipping company's first newbuilding.
