Poster with a picture of Siw Malmkvist and Cliff Richard. In 1966, Siw Malmkvist sang the Swedish version of the song Lucky lips, which Cliff Richard had great success with. The melody with the Swedish title "Slit och släng" was on the Swedish charts for nine weeks and reached second place at best. It is no coincidence that the picture was taken at the moment when the popular English singer Cliff Richard gives her a kiss on the cheek, perhaps with his Lucky lips?
Siw Malmkvist has recorded around 600 songs in ten different languages (Swedish, English, Finnish, Norwegian, Danish, German, Dutch, French, Italian and Spanish) and until 2012 had 40 songs on the Svensktoppen. Among her many hits are: "Jazzbacillen", "Girls behind the car", "Skona mitt hjärta", "Slit och släng", "Lyckans ost", "Mamma är lik sin mamma", "Samma gamla sång", "Regnet det bara öser ner" and "Tunna skivor".
Her debut on Svensktoppen took place on March 17, 1963, when "Gulle dej" reached number two. Her most successful year on Svensktoppen was 1967, when she managed to place ten melodies on the list.
