Sonja Wigert Born November 11, 1913 in Notodden, Norway.
She was a Norwegian-Swedish actress who had a very successful career in film in both countries during the 1940s.
Her film breakthrough came in 1942 in the film The Ingegerd Bremssen Case. The following year she appeared in Hasse Ekman's film Ombyte av tåg, which later turned out to be one of her own favorite film roles.
She is described as something of a Nordic Vivien Leigh, a bit enigmatic and movie star-like beautiful.
During During World War II, she was a Swedish spy and collaborated with the Norwegian resistance movement. Her goal was to save her father who was being held prisoner in the Nazi internment camp called Grini. Later, the Nazis understood her double game and with their lies about her, she was ostracized in Sweden and also in Norway. It was when the classified information about her was released, just over 25 years after her death, that her efforts were discovered . Sonja Wigert has recently been the subject of a documentary film on television and her life story has been rewritten, but I hope more is written about the somewhat mythical film star.
She died in 1980, aged only 66. Unfortunately, she never experienced the vindication or recognition for her significant contributions during World War II that she deserved.

The photo was taken by Kristoffersson in 1954 in connection with a report published in the newspaper Vecko-Journalen, but it was never published.
